Since 1976, the collection The Coptic World deals with the history, culture, spirituality and current life of Copts in Egypt. Realized voluntarily under the direction of Ashraf and Bernadette Sadek, the collection accomodates the contributions of specialists from all over the world, scholars or any person playing a part in the revival of the Christian culture of Egypt. Each volume makes it possible to look further into various aspects of this legacy. Simple French-speaking cultural periodical at its beginnings, the publication, which now knows a broad international audience, constitutes a true encyclopaedic collection on the coptic culture. From nr 13 onwards, most of the volumes are devoted to a precise topic, which they developp in a comprehensive series of articles. Such is the case, for example, of number 27-28, dedicated to Alexandria, or of nr 29-31, devoted to the history, the contemporary revival and the spirituality of iconographic art in Egypt. The purpose of this site, which is at its beginnings, is to give access to the catalogue and the last publications. It is undergoing a process of continuous development, we thank you for your indulgence.
